The boy above is a reproduction Jumeau.  I created the outfit for a customer using antique material I acquired on E-bay.  The seller of the material said that the material was leftovers from the antique material used for costumes in Oprah Winfrey's movie The Color Purple.  I have watched the movie several times and in the scene where Oprah runs through a field she is wearing a skirt made from this same material.

Note: that the dolls you see throughout my site are some of the more interesting ones I have encountered selling dolls or are projects I have worked on for customers.

What's New at Dollfixer.com

New show plans

The Fall shows are over and were a big success.   We plan to keep busy for the winter with repairs and new doll collections.  We are already making plans for the spring doll shows in Vallejo, Pleasanton and San Jose. By then we should have lots of dolls that have never been to these shows and will be bringing a collection of vintage and antique doll clothes and accessories including shoes.  Always remember the dolls I am selling are available in my shops between shows.

For the two day show in Vallejo we will also be bringing Laverne Goodwin's antique and vintage trims and material for all those interested in making or restoring doll clothes. I have a pile of trims, lace and fabric that need to be packaged and priced to fill up the holes in my stock created by the last round of shows.  Be sure to bring your patterns and sewing plans so you can get what you need to finish your projects.  We have decided to focus the Vallejo show on Dolls and the trims and materials.  For the two day show we get extra tables and bring the trailer so we can have a wider selection of dolls and the entire inventory of material and trims.   See the shows page for details See Doll Show Schedule

The Doll Fixer will be in Modesto Ca.

I will provide free verbal appraisals for a limited number of dolls. I will also be doing limited repairs (mainly restringing) while you wait. I can also discuss more extensive repairs you may need for your dolls and can also discuss how I can help you sell your dolls. New Shop in the Foothills

We are now working out of a new shop in Oakdale.  The shop is Remember When Again.  It is the second shop of their Modesto location.  They have brought everything that was popular in the Modesto location to Oakdale.  We hope this location will help everyone in the foothills and gold country to see the dolls and get easier access to our repair services.  See the shops new web site at www.OakdaleRememberWhen.com.  See my shops page for details and directions.

Doll Sales on the Web

Everyone is always asking me why don't you sell dolls on the web.  Well now we have the answer you have all been waiting to hear.  We have started to sell a selection of vintage and antique dolls from the web site. My husband (The web master) has started the listing processes and will be posting more dolls for sale on the web as fast as he can take the photos and enter the listing text.   See web listings We have always been hesitant to sell on the web because it takes a lot of effort to do it right.  We have tried to be sure the listings have the information you need to appreciate the doll you are looking at and be sure you are comfortable and confident about the doll when you decide to purchase.

New Car

For those of you who may have seen me at a show or at a shop I wanted to let you know that I have a new Doll Fixer mobile.  My old blue wagon was going to need some serious work.  Given the great deals the dealer was giving on new cars it made more sense to trade in for a new car instead of doing the needed work on the old one.  I went for a different color.  I really liked the blue but it just showed the dirt too much.  I do like the new color and it looks clean even if there is just a little dust on it.
