Simon Halbig / Kammer Reinhart 121 Doll

Description

This is a beautiful example of a Simon Halbig / Kammer Reinhart Bisque character face Doll.  She is 18 inches tall and is a fine example of German doll making.  She has sleep eyes and a wobble or treble tongue.  She has a desirable character face with the most wonderful dimples.  She is on a straight legged slant hip composition body and is wearing her original dress and slip and has a pair of crocheted replacement booties.  Her mohair wig is factory original.

Marks

The head is marked as follows:

Kammer Reinhart / Simon Halbig #121

Condition

The bisque head is perfect with no chips, cracks or repairs. The body has not been repainted and has minimal paint crazing and no paint lifting.  There is minimal wear to the joint surfaces.  There is damage to her left arm with significant chipping to the paint and some wear to the composition below the paint.  The composition and wood parts are not broken or split (see pictures below) You can click the pictures to see close-ups of the damage.

On her left waist there is are paint chips and some damage to the underlying composition.  This was caused by an overly tight doll stand used on her at some time in the past.  The damage has not compromised the structure of her torso.  (see picture to the right).  Both of these problems could be easily repaired by a professional doll restorer resulting in a doll with a near perfect body appearance.

The dress and slip are factory original.  The panties, shoes and socks have been replaced.  The replacement crocheted booties are especially fine. The dress closes in the back with a pin.  There is no button closure.  There is some wear and fraying to the placket in the back.  (see close-up in the slide show).

In addition to the wobble tongue the mouth has two perfect little teeth.  In the wide shots of her face it appears that one tooth is missing.  I have checked the doll and both teeth are present.  See blowup to the right

This is an antique doll that will have some wear and minor imperfections expected in an antique or vintage doll.  I make every effort to describe all significant flaws in my descriptions and show them in the pictures.  Please read the description fully and examine all the pictures to be sure you understand the condition of the doll.  The pictures can be enlarged to show the doll in great detail.  If you have any questions or would like any additional information on this doll feel free to email me and I will be glad to answer your question.  Email Me with questions
