The Doll Fixer

Steiner Fig. A Le Petite Parisian
Description
This is a beautiful example of an antique closed mouth Steiner fire A (Fig. a) Le Petite Parisian doll. She is a stunning example from a famous French doll manufacturer. She has straight legs like a walker but not does not have a walker mechanism which would turn her head as the legs move. She is marked as size 11 and is 18 inches tall.

Marks
The body has a faint stamp as shown. The picture was enhanced to make the mark visible on computer monitors. The head is marked as follows:
Condition
The head has perfect bisque with no cracks, chips, repairs or wig pulls. The ears are pierced with no chips in the ear holes. There are no earrings. There are no eyelid chips. She has a vintage to antique replacement human hair wig.
The body has not been repainted and has some yellowing of the original factory varnish. There are minimal wear on most joint surfaces as shown in the pictures. The elbow joints do have chipping on the edges of the joints. There is a hole in the back where a doll stand has pierced the body at the waist. There is also a damage around the screw that holds the voice box in the body. This is visible just below the leather band in the photo. (see pictures) You can click the pictures to see close-ups of the damage.
The voice box is present in the body but the strings that control it are missing. It also appears that tape on the body that allows access to the voice box has been disturbed at some point in the past.
The body has authentic Steiner hands. Fingers have been neatly repaired on both hands.
The clothing is antique and could be factory original. The outfit consists of a bonnet, dress, chemise,
slip and bloomers.
The clothing appears to be all hand sewn. Some of the seams are so precise they appear to be machine done but it is my opinion that the clothing is all hand sewn. There are small holes in the underwear and there are small flaws in the netting of the bonnet (see pictures below). You can click the pictures to see close-ups of the damage.
